LIMON, CO (IFS) - “Love Is A Flame” by the group Twilite is creating waves all over internet
radio. This is just one of many chart surges for this great singer and
songwriter. Tish Macurio’s sudden rise to the top of the music pile has taken a
couple of decades, and the singer/songwriter has more triumphants under her belt
than anyone could have imagined. The list is very long. So in her own words, the
following list of achievements in her short career.
• Sings at charity events, fairs, festivals, cafe’s, and other events. Has
performed on a local cable TV channel. Has performed at the “The Festival of
Trees” in Detroit, Michigan which is a charity event in benefit of Children’s
Hospital sponsored by Northwest Airlines, Ford Motor Company, and other
corporations. Also has performed at the “Belleville National Strawberry
Festival” in Belleville, Michigan, which is sponsored by General Motors, Holiday
Inn Express, and other corporations.
• Released debut CD, “Dreams Come True”, on July 28, 2004. All songs on the CD
were written by Tish Macurio. The songs were arranged by Jack Cook (Roy
Orbison’s former Guitar player).
• All five of my songs on my CD have been played on radio stations in the U.S.,
Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My songs are currently being played
on Clear Channel Satellite Radio’s online radio station and were played on
American Idol’s online radio station when it was in operation.
• My song, “The Wind That Carries Me”, was number 3 on the year-end countdown in
2005 on radio station 106.3 FM (Big Rapids/Lakeview/Greenville, Michigan)
• April 2005: Was nominated out of a total of 7,000 Detroit area musicians to
receive an award at the Detroit Music Awards ceremony for the “Best Country
Vocal Recording” category. Other nominees in other categories from the Detroit
area included international acts such as: Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Eminem,
Kid Rock, The White Stripes, and Uncle Kracker.
• 2002: Received an honorable mention from the Billboard Music Charts and
Billboard Magazine for a song I wrote and submitted to their Billboard World
Song Contest
• 2003: Semi-finalist out of 1,200 songwriters in the Great American Songwriting
Contest (a contest sponsored by performing rights organizations BMI, SESAC, and
ASCAP and judged by faculty of Berklee College of Music and U.C.L.A. and music
industry experts who have worked with Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, and Reba McIntire
to name only a few)
• 2002: Won first place in a singing contest sponsored by Kid Rock’s Emerald
Theatre and Budweiser.
• Member of Ford Motor Company Chorus during the 2002 – 2003 season.
