Description: Lachi creates a formula of beautiful lyrics that encourages, innovates and puts the soul at peace with a rocking edge. Her songs are inspirational wonders that'll leave you feeling self-reliant and amazed. -Girls Rock Girls Rule Blog
Biography: Though these eyes are broken, well these ears truly see right...in black and white." Lachi sings, referring to her visual impairment, and her true ability to see through black and white piano keys.

In an industry where songwriting has become a formula instead of an art, Lachi's recent masterpiece, the "Ugly Beautiful" EP, has garnered much musical respect from innumerable reviewers, as her vocal and lyrical prowess "captures what was once a great time for music" (Radio Indy). With a performance deemed "consistently good" and "with sultry delivery" by Computer Music Magazine, "standout" by NYU's Washington Square News, and “gorgeous…with nice catchy melodies” by College Music Journal, Lachi brings the art back into songwriting and the vigor into performing.

Lachi's heavy Radiohead influence is evident in her lyrical play and awkwardly soothing chord changes. Her homage to the band comes crisp as gold in her a cappella rendition of "Paranoid Android." In the piece where she samples over 12 tracks of her own voice two mimic the instruments of the song, Lachi demonstrates her musical prowess and multifaceted composition talent, as throws in her own interpretation of angst within the piece. She has shared the Stage with a cappella songstress Petra Haden and founded the all female a cappella group of UNC Chapel Hill, Cadence.

Lachi also works hard around the clock to promote and further the careers of other blind musicians in the New York City area. As an active member on the roster of the Visionary Media Company, an organization that aids visually impaired musicians, Lachi has taken it upon herself to uncover and bring together some of the finest talent New York City’s blind community has to offer.

With a lot of Lachi’s lyrics inspired by the stigmas of her visual impairment, evident in "White Mutiny" (a song directly focusing on the stigma in society of people with low vision) her musical honesty and depth has won her recognition as a 2006 Independent Music Awards finalist and grabbed her featured spots on National Public Radio and Joey Reynold's AM Radio Show, to name a few.

Press Release:
"There are so many pop divas and pretty girls out there in the music game so it was such a breath of fresh air to hear Lachi for the first time. This songstress has a rock, jazz and alternative sound that many music lovers surely can vibe to. Lachi doesn't let being legally blind slow her down from flying high. Her band creates a formula of beautiful lyrics that encourages, innovates and puts the soul at peace with a rocking edge. Her songs “We can Fly” and “Ugly Beautiful” are inspirational wonders that'll leave you feeling self-reliant and amazed."
