| Biography: A product of Cleveland, OH, as a youngster Mettee upheld the longstanding tradition of not paying attention in class. Instead, he spent his youth flirting with a wide variety of musical influences. His first musical loves included the Clash, David Bowie, and the English Beat on one hand, and the likes of Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Marvin Gaye on the other. During the past eight years, Mettee has continued to write and record music with various acts as well as direct songwriting programs for students. Recent adventures have included The Atlas Fret project with Jim Gardner, founder of Junior James and the Late Guitar, and sitting in with the Asheville, NC punk rock dynamo The Gin Fits. |
